NovaStage was founded in 2004 by Anne Meighan and Lori Distel, who brought together their respective skills in performance, directing, management and design to create a company where they could produce dynamic theatre on their own terms.

Since its inception, NovaStage has produced nine shows including three Canadian premieres and two world premieres, and one tour to the USA. In 2007, Artistic Director Anne Meighan won the Bernice Adams Performing Arts award for her work as a director with NovaStage.
